welcome to the show

Guess I’m hitting in the two spot…

It looks like Danny did a pretty good job summing up what we hope to accomplish here on our fancy, wicked high tech website. Although, he did forget to thank a few people for making this possible...First and foremost, Former Vice President Al Gore for making the internet a reality and giving people like me and Danny a place to voice our opinions, can't thank you enough. Also like to thank Curt Schilling for his 38pitches blog, which is hysterical if only because you have to wonder where he finds the time to type 10,000 words a day, pitch for a professional baseball team, star in Ford and Dunkin Donuts commercials, and save people like Danny from skin cancer, the guy is a real life renaissance man. And I guess we should thank Keystone light for being the creative fuel that will probably trigger most of the thoughts found on this blog. Last, gotta thank The Godfather, Bill Simmons . . . .(that was me taking a few seconds to do the Wayne and Garth “we are not worthy” from “Waynes World”)

So I don’t really have much to say right now, as I’m in the midst of trying to get ready for our live fantasy draft which is taking place at 330, which War Daddy has been nice enough to host. I do havea few random thoughts i can offer up…

1. Opening day is three days away, and Daisuke’s (ill be referring to him as DiceK from now on only because is much easier to type) Major league regular season debut is less than a week away, I can honestly say that I haven’t been anticipating something this much since I was 13 and waiting for SI’s swimsuit issue to come.
2. I am eagerly waiting for Hazel Mae, Tina Cervasio, Hot Ball Girl, etc, to come back into my life after a six month absence. You girls don’t know how much you mean to college aged guys all over New England.
3. I can’t wait till we get to bust Danny’s balls for a whole season when he uses his third round pick to draft Jon Papelbon’s little brother, or some other obscure prospect he heard Gammons talk about.
4. If fantasy baseball were to ever count fist pumps for points do you realize how valuable Derek Jeter would be to a roto team??
5. Final four is on tonight, GTown is laying a point to OSU and Florida is favored 3.5 over UCLA. Now, if gambling were legal, id be all over Florida with the points (-115), but since its not, and since I had to have Lee place all my bets, and since I’m a terrible at picking games, ill just watch it on TV and kick myself when they smoke UCLA tonight.
6. In case you didn’t hear…the NIT Tourney is over. UMass, my alma mater as well as Danny’s, bowed out in the second round after a great season, which could possibly bring basketball excitement back to Western Mass. I suppose the one upside is that UMass did lose to the eventual champion. So, congratulations are order to……West Virgina.
7. Oh and May 22nd…mark it on your calendar; it will be a day that will shape the Celtics immediate and long term future, maybe more on that later.

Thats all for now, gotta spend the next few hours pouring over every fantasy magainze and website available. You can reach us both at thesportshub@gmail.com (we have our own email address….doesn’t get much more legit than that)
