Greech
This is the third (3rd!) consecutive post for TSH. This could potentially crash the site, google, the internet, possible the world as we know it, so please, enjoy)
Ok, so its 11:21, I’m still at work, and I can hardly see because I’ve been staring at a computer screen for almost 15 hours, but I’m taking a break from engineering stuff (Wilson) to write a little something just to shut Danny up and keep all (6) of our loyal readers happy. You see Danny, I have an actual real job, not a made, up-make believe one like yours. Its only been nine days since my last post, and I was going to wait another few days but then Danny had to go and call me out, and much like Marty Mcfly, I never EVER back down from a challenge. SO LAY OFF ME DANNY.
First off I would like to say that I am DVRing the draft as we speak so when I get home from work I can watch it, however, I couldn’t resist checking ESPN.com to see who the Celts picked…Drum roll please……JEFF GREEN?!?! Are you kidding me?? Alright, after I caught my breath and looked a little closer we actually traded the pick to the Sonics, here’s Danny Mac with his expert breakdown of what transpired: “In other news, the Celtics drafted Jeff Green, then traded Wally and Delonte for Ray Allen. I'm not a huge Celts fan so I can't really totally comment on this.” Thank you, Danny. Im really not sure how i feel about this trade yet. Yeah, its going to make us a relevant in the East again for the next 3, maybe 4 years, but what about after that? Ray Allen has been in the league for 12 years now, and he missed 26 games last year, if we are looking to make a run, this is our time. For now, I’d have to say that I’m not in love with the trade, I just sorta like it. And I sorta like it for a few reasons. First of all, with Paul Pierce and Ray Allen together Garnett might think twice about not wanting to play in Boston. He had previously said through his agent that Boston was not a place he was willing to go, you gotta think that the addition of Allen this might have change this. Plus we still have all the pieces that we initially offered Minnasota for Garnett, namely Big Al and Theo Ratliff, and with the Ainge getting Glenn Big Baby Davis from LSU with our first second round pick you gotta think that Ainge is looking to the future without Al there. I was initially completely against the Al for KG trade, but it makes a little more sense now, I guess. Bust as for the Ray Allen trade alone, these are some of the reasons I sorta liked it; first of all we didn’t have to give up Big Al, which I was desperately hoping Ainge wouldn’t do. Second we got rid of Wally Sczerbiazciazk huge contract, his balky knees, and his hair gel. Third, we held onto Theo Ratliffs contract which we can use later in the season to acquire a good veteran (hopefully a big man) and fourth, I wasn’t too high on any of the guys in this draft after Oden and Durant anyway. Sure, there are going to be guys who are going to be solid players in this league, but are any of them going to help get us to the next level next year of the year after? And by next level I don’t mean winning the Atlantic Division with 35 wins, I mean making a fun at the Eastern Conference and trying to hang another banner in the Garden. With Pierce, Big Al, and Ray Allen, along with Rondo and The Big Stiff (Perkins) as our starting five and Gomes, Tony Allen, Green, and Powe off the bench, the Celts are poised to make some noise next year in the East. I mean if Lebron, Eric Snow, Side Show Bob, Larry Hughes and a 7-3 Lithuanian guy can win the Eastern Division, why couldn’t the Celts do the same with the group of guys we have now? Ok, when I get home I’m going to watch it and ill have some more to add to this.
And while I’m at it, I have another few things that I need to get off my chest: Ill have you know Danny that if Theo signed me for a pro-rated supply of Keystone Light I would make him look like the smartest GM in the history of any sport. Not only am I leading my team company slow pitch softball team in batting average, slugging, OPS, hrs, RBIs, runs scored (I don’t keep the books, but I work with engineers which explains both why I lead nearly every offensive category AND why someone is actually keeping track of these stats) but I am also the starting shortstop. Just to set the record straight: yes, I know I play with a bunch of old men and yes I know it is slow pitch softball. And another thing, Im not going to go back and read what you wrote a few weeks back, but I’ll believe you when you say you called the we were all going to love Pedroia, not that any of us needing convincing, but I am 100% sure that you also said you were wicked excited to have Lugo be part of the team, DANNY. Hows that one working out for you, DANNY??How do you like them apples, DANNY??? The lesson here, kids, is that if you throw enough shit against the wall eventually something is going to stick. (considered yourself sereved)
Alright, last thing. Danny brought up the guys going to Las Vegas. It’s starting here with me, and I’m going to be sending it along to all of our close friends, family members, and co-workers, it’s a petition that I have started that is begging that when we go to Vegas we do it when it cools down. For the sake of the Big Mac, I don’t think he’d last 5 minutes in that desert heat. Especially with the Warrington jumping on his back, having to decide if he should double on his 5 dollar black jack hand, the lap dances, and us having to carry a passed out and soiled Leps back to the room. So, its either you all sign this petition and make sure we go when its cooler out, or we all have to pack like 50 extra towels so Danny can wipe the sweat off his face, its up to you to decide.
Alright, peace out guys, back to work. As always, thanks for reading and try to keep it real. Send us an email at TheSportsHub@gmail.com and we will be sure to get RIGHT back to you with in-depth and expert insight.
